Biography
Charlene Reaveley was a 30 year-old mother of four children, aged 2 to 11 years. A terrible tragedy took her life on February 19, 2011 at 12:25 am on her way home from a celebration dinner. Charlene and her husband Dan stopped at the corner of Pitt River Road and Lougheed Highway in Port Coquitlam to help a stranded motorist - 26 year old Lorraine Cruz, a student attending Vancouver Community College from the Philippines. Both women were tragically struck and killed by a hit & run driver.
Charlene was bright, vibrant, and always so full of life. Her infectious smile truly had the power to change any situation for the better. She was a genuinely caring and loving person who always went out of her way to help out others in need.
Charlene was a very active person. In school she excelled in many sports – specifically ringette, softball and dance. Because of her love of fitness, she branched out and became a personal trainer. After losing an incredible 42 pounds, it was no doubt she would be an inspiration to her clients and friends alike. She then dedicated her life to helping others exude confidence and achieve their fitness goals as well.
Amongst all of life’s hustle and bustle, Charlene always made time for other people. She was always the first to drop everything to lend a hand to help, an ear to listen, and a shoulder to cry on. It didn’t matter who you were, she looked at your heart above everything else. Charlene accepted you exactly the way you were.
